For 18 years he worked for the National Trust as Regional Building Manager where his role included the following

 

National Trust Building Manager for Yorkshire & The North-East
Region 1994-2012

 

  • Managed
         and led the regional Building Department, overseeing all aspects of work,
         to provide an effective full building service to the region, resulting in
         a vast improvement in the portfolio condition over 18 years.
  • Led
         25 staff and controlled budgets in excess of £3 million per annum to
         successfully deliver many highly acclaimed projects and exemplar repair
         and maintenance regimes.
  • Strategically
         represented the department by planning and prioritising workloads to provide
         value for money and maintain stock to a very high standard.
  • Delivered
         many high profile quality projects safely on time and within budget.
  • Leadership
         skills used to administer and promote a well respected busy department.
  • Represented
         the National Trust through all forms of media and professional events to
         share skills with others.
  • Strategic
         regional role undertaken successfully by demonstrating a high customer service
         and proactive approach in liaising with private consultants and external
         bodies to support workload,

         respected individual within the North East Heritage Sector.
